IOA Corporate 5k is a unique 3.1-mile run/walk evening event where Florida’s corporate and non-profit communities form teams and participate in workplace health, promote camaraderie, friendly competition and celebrate with co-workers. Each year there is a contest with a prize awarded to the team with the best overall event & team T-Shirts. Although we’ve come close, we’ve never had a Hittn’ Skins printed T-Shirt take home the gold for the “best team race shirt”. In the past Hard Rock has won it…(We think it’s fixed…JK) but it won’t stop us from coming up with some of the most amazing & creative designs and print quality to hit the streets. If you have already decided you are not going this year, join us next season in our quest of taking home the grand prize and winning best overall Race T-Shirts by sending in your design ideas early so we can be sure to out-do every screen printer in our area and win the prize!

On a lighter note, we are huge supporters of Track Shack, their fans & their spring/summer events. We generate a lot of business and get to meet all types of friendly, athletic & active people who have custom race T-shirts printed throughout the year for many of their events. Although Track Shack normally shuts us down when we try to bid on the Official IOA Track Shack Race T-Shirts, we still keep a positive spirit and do whatever we can to contribute. When it comes to the IOA corporate 5K, the overall goal is to promote a culture of wellness to Central Florida’s business community through a gathering of companies and employees with a 3.1 mile walk/run that generates a gigantic sum for the Track Shack Foundation. What is the Track Shack Foundation you ask? It’s much more than the assumed tax funnel for the Track Shack, it’s actually one of the most well-known local not-for-profit organizations that is very active & quite generous to local sports, non-profit race & athletic communities here in Florida. 

Since 1977, Track Shack and Track Shack Events have produced numerous events to benefit charities throughout the greater Central Florida community, primarily serving Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Brevard and Volusia counties. The two sister companies (Track Shack events & Track Shack Foundation have also sponsored several athletic events in area schools and have made donations to athletic programs in schools from elementary through college level. It has always been important for Jon and Betsy Hughes, owners of Track Shack and Track Shack Events, that both businesses support charitable causes, in particular charities that benefit youth and youth athletics. The sole purpose of promoting and encouraging health and fitness with an emphasis on youth programs has been their focus since they started back in 1994. 

To date since its inception, the foundation has contributed over two million dollars to community programs throughout CFL. Now, more than ever, the youth in our communities are battling serious challenges. It is TSF feeling that sports and organized athletic programs offer children structure and goals, which are vital to mental and physical development. Unfortunately, many schools have to cut back or even eliminate sports/athletic programs due to lack of funding (as they say). Programs that build self-esteem and confidence, foster healthy and wholesome habits, and develop leadership and cooperation skills are some of the destinations that the proceeds from TSF & TSE’s events will benefit. Getting your teams custom race T-Shirts from Hittn’ Skins is just the starting point, actually participating in any of these events and donating to these charities are for a good cause. If you do miss this one this year, make sure to get your company (large or small) in this wonderful event that truly has a purpose in our community.
